Rebecca Hunt: Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Chatham and Aylesford
Chatham and Aylesford Lib Dems have chosen Kent campaigner Rebecca Hunt as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.
Chatham and Aylesford Lib Dem members made their final selection at a hustings meeting in the committee room at East Malling and Larkfield Parish Council on the evening of Tuesday 17th February.
Rebecca Hunt has a strong track record of local campaigning and has given evidence at a Public Inquiry to protect Green Belt land in Kent. She works for an engineering firm which has an office in Snodland.
Rebecca Hunt said after her selection as Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Chatham and Aylesford said:
"Nationally the Liberal Democrats are currently only three points behind Labour in one of the key opinion polls. Voters are starting to realise that neither of the other two parties have the solutions.
"How can the Tories claim to understand what it feels like to have just lost your job when a good number of their front bench have not one, but two or even, in some cases, three jobs? Added to that, some of those jobs are in the financial sector which is responsible for this mess. Vince Cable has been the only credible voice in the wilderness on the issues which face the economy."
